At Dean’s Dugout, we believe playing games is an activity for the whole family AND a great way to make new friends! Every Thursday night, we host Game Night – bring one of your favorite games, along with your friends and family and sit down to a great evening of fun with us! Meet other people who like the same games, or teach someone new to play your old favorite! Or maybe YOU can find a new game AND a new friend! We may even be running a demonstration of a new game for everyone to learn! Join us every Thursday starting around 5:00pm and enjoy the best of board games, roleplaying games, miniature games or card games – even Monopoly is welcome!
Lon comes with a background of thirty-six years as a history teacher and twenty-seven years of coaching swimming and diving. He started playing board games with extended family members in the 1950's and has kept his interest in games and gaming ever since.
In the mid-70's he expanded into historical wargames and D&D, and along the way has enjoyed playing every genre of hobby games. In the mid 90's, Lon helped out at a local game store working on Sundays before opening his own game store in 1997. After two years he could no longer continue working two full time jobs, so he closed the store, but kept vending game conventions and selling games on-line.
In 1999 Lon became a regional administrator for the RPGA Living Greyhawk (D&D 3E) organized play campaign. In this capacity he took on the responsibility of plot coordinator and adventure module editor. He also authored or co-authored over a dozen adventures. Today, Lon continues to vend gaming conventions in Illinois, Indiana and Wisconsin; and has joined Dean's Dugout as the Game Sales Coordinator.
